Is a macbook worth it?

So my dell is finished, the end its over :D i own a dell inspiron 6000 and its give me the blue screen, crashed and done its share of horrible moments on me. Plus my battery was one of the defective ones from a few years back. OH what joy! So finally, after its become nearly a monthly thing of the blue screen i've considered switching over to a macbook. Anything i should know, or be wary about? Mind you, at this moment i'm pretty much finished with my experience with dell. I'm a marketing student and have a lot on my plate of computer working and projects needed to be done. I travel and need to make sure my laptop [ or new macbook! ] can handle this.
