The last words spoken to Saddam indicate that the executioner was very sure of the identity of the man standing before him. Those words are also excellent indicators of why we have lost almost 4000 American lives there. We handed Saddam Hussein over to be hung by a man who ultimately supports a perpetual enemy of ours. War is not only the closest representation of hell on earth. It is also the best indicator of the foolishness of developing close relationships with people we should know cannot be trusted. But to answer your question, why would the hangman ask that insulting question to anyone other than Saddam himself?
