My doctor has told me that the results of the MRI of my neck is a bone spur pinching a nerve?

That's a tough one. I had the operation because I didn't want to stay on pain meds forever and besides I felt limited because the pain never-ever went away. I had it done when I was in my 30's, in pretty good shape etc. I don't know what your situation is but every surgery carries risk, and that's what you and your Dr. have to talk about.
