Do you think all Supreme Court justices should have past judicial experience?

Last year, Kagan was admitted to the Supreme Court panel and she had no judicial experience at all. But, she was the Solicitor General, meaning she has a really great understanding of the U.S. law. Do you think it's okay that justices on the Supreme Court have never been an actual judge, or do you think they need that kind of experience to perform effectively?
